Speakers - SPS571A Alpine Component speekers
Amp - MRV-F340 4 channel Alpine V12 Amp

Situation - want to take the 2 front channels and send to the 2 tweeters. Take the 2 rear channels and send to the 2 mids.

Question - the cross overs that came with the speakers do not support bi-amping, however, my amp does have both high/low crossovers built in for both front and rear channels.

Is it still safe to do it this way (using the amps built in cross overs)without adding in an external crossover before the amp?

 

I believe this amp's crossover is specifically made to "pass" low frequencies below a set point to a sub or "pass" frequencies above a certain point to a component set or a speaker system with it's own crossover network. The frequency for the crossover is adjustable, but it wouldn't have a high enough point for use solely with tweeters. Tweeters would need a crossover point much higher than an amp's filter would provide. Also, your midrange or midbass would need a bandpass filter to filter out highs and lows so that it is only reproducing midrange or midbass. The amp's crossover POINT and your component set's crossover NETWORK are not the same. That's why you need to use the crossover network. You could use a separate electronic crossover to bi-amp, but that's not what you asked.
