Don't know anything about them. They look like they would work. I would just reseal it when I got it to make sure there are not leaks. Just get subs to match the volume. Make sure and take out for sub displacement.

To my knowledge, there isn't a seat lift kit available to allow you to accomodate this box. If you look at the way the seatback is mounted, you are going to have to get into some pretty heavy modding to raise the seat up in order to fit that box. I would recommend going with 10" subs with a shallow mount depth (less than 5"). Space is very limited in the '04. I am running an Audiobahn AWP310 with no problems so far.

Hey try www.subbox.net they have a seat lift kit it might work for you. They also have a list of shallow mount subs to help you.

good luck.

Seat kit

I like that box but need to raise back seat at least two inches according to manufacturer. I contacted lmi welding who makes lift kits for rear seat of late model ford f-150s. They replied they are working on a kit for 2004 but are having problems overcoming seat latching issue. They have no time frame on completion and do not know if they will be able to produce it at all.

I checked out IMWelding for a lift kit but didn't want to choke out the $150 for the parts. Also, I needed to raise my seat 6" and they only went to 4". I got a little carried away and mounted 2 amps, 4 crossovers, 2 distribution blocks, and 1 capacitor on top of my sub box.

Instead I went online and bought a couple pieces of aluminium rectangular tubing 2"x6"x12" for $33 including shipping. I haven't received them yet but when i do i will just drill 4 holes on each and mount them between the exisitng seat bracket and the seat. Then I'll use some 6" steel pipe and longer bolts to extend the seat belt brackets. I'll post some pics when it is finished.

top edge sub box

I ordered the sub box from Top Edge. According to the specs the box is 7.5 in hieght. I measured 7 in from the floor to the bottom of the rear seat. A half inch lift is very do able with spacers.

I should have the box this monday and installed by the weekend I will keep you posted

FYI for all you guys wanting to order the Top Edge sub box... make sure you call and order it form a sales rep... and not online..

I orderd what was described as a 2000 and up sub box the one in the link in the very first post in this thread.. It turned out not to fit.. I repeat it will not fit the box is supposed to be for 2000-2003 trucks.

I am in the process of sending this one back to get the right box... hope this saves someone a headache...

the box that fits....(sort of)

I finally got my box today.... the description says fits with no modifications... but... you will still need to raise your rear bench a inch and a half to make it fit...

oh well at least the notch for the jumpseat is on the right side..

That sucks, talk about false advertisement. Are you going to raise it are send the box back? That major BS, to order a box for the simple reason of not having to make any mods to the seat and than found out you have to raise it away. Man for just that along that box would be on it's way back.
Just take measurements off that one, copy it and make one thats shorter to fit.

This is what the ad says.

"2004 Up Ford F150 ext cab or Supercrew dual 10 inch downfire box fits with no modifications. Made with 5/8" MDF with all joints wood glued, nailed, and sealed with a hot melt plastic. This box has .56 cubic feet per sub of air space. The mounting depth is 5.5 inches. The dimensions of this box are 51.25" W x 8.5" H x 16" D. This box fits with no modifications! $35 Shipping"

I just took a measurement and even pushing the end of my tape deep into the carpet the most I could get was 7 3/4'' to the bottom of the seat. There is no way 8.5'' as stated about is going to fit under there without changing the angle of the bench part of the seat, if it is able to come down at all. Also at 16'' D, expect it to extend about 3'' to 4'' pass the end of the bench seat into the foot area.
They sure make it sound nice and that it will just go right under there. Well I don't see how and I have tried every way possible to max my box as far as I could without having to do any mods to the seat or having it extend into to the foot area.
O.K. I'm done. Just made me mad when saw that ad.

False advertisement

yeah... dont get me started...I am not happy at all with the description of the speaker box.

Seeing that this is the second time I have not gotten what I thought I was ordering. I am gonna just raise the seat make it fit and hopefully call it good. .. Well out to garage to lift the rear seat...

Still Venting

Ok... this will be my last post on the sub box topic (I Promise)

Got the box installed and am fairly happy with the results. As I said in a earlier post I had to raise the rear seat an inch and a half.. I could have gotten away with raising it just an inch but that caused me to have to really shove the box under the rear seat. The extra half inch made this go together a little easier.

Raising the rear seat meant redrilling the seat mounts so the bolts would line up properly. I still was able to use the stock seat mounting bolts so that was a plus.

The box sit almost flush with the rear seat with about a 1/4 inch over hang (not too Bad).. And of course you cannot raise the rear seats anymore.... hope this helps someone else out there....

Peace...

Re Pics...

Sorry... man I dont have a digital cam... and the one on my cell phone takes crappy pics. Next time I will take pics as I install something..

The install is really nothin major just a pain in the *** cause the description says fits with no mods
You will need to drill a hole right next to the existining seat monut hole and clean up the space between the two hole with a file or Dremel (tm).
