Question 12" Solos in 2004 Screw?

I know this concept is complex in theory, but would there be any way to fit 2 12" Solobaric L7s in my 2004 F150 Screw FX4? The major limitation here is that the back seat must remain...I know, I know. This limits it to an underseat or a floor board job. The floorboard seems a little easier considering that I could possibly move it if necessary. However, any ideas are welcomed at this point...I'm stumped...

The only way they will go under the seat is to lift it. Sounds like the floorboard way will be the anwser for those 12''s. Whats the mounting depth of them?
Good luck

Here are the specs I got from the manual that came with each sub and from the Kicker website:
For each subwoofer-

S12L7
Mounting Depth- 6 13/16"
Mounting Cutout- 11 3/16"
Min Sealed Box Vol (cubic feet)- .88
Max Sealed Box Vol (cubic feet)- 2.0
Min Vented Box Vol (port excluded)- 1.75
Max Vented Box Vol (port excluded)- 3.25

Plus, I am unsure as to whether I want a sealed or a ported box. Whatever sounds the best and hits the hardest I suppose.

No way that one's going under your seat without a good size seat lift.
Ported will be louder and sealed will sound better, but a box that is ported correctly can sound real good and be loud as well.
I would suggest you lesson to other systems out there, both sealed and ported to help you with your decision on that.
Maybe others here have had exp. with this sub and can give their take on them.
Anyway I know of no one here that has been able to fit an 12'' sub under the seat of a 2004.
Good luck.

In that case, does anyone have any good ideas as to how I could do this (floorboard box) or where I can find one? I'm wanting a really awesome setup, one that'll knock the socks off of everyone (whether it be by the looks or the sound. I have a couple of ideas I'm toying with, such as mounting the subs in a box with neon lights inside and putting plexiglass over them so you can see them. But would this be considered a bandpass box? Either way, does anyone have any ideas as to how I could get this accomplished in the space I can work with in the 04 Screw (and not moving the back seat)?

You can either buy a standrad box and put it on your floor board or make or have made a custom one that fits good in the same spot. I'd go with the custom box on the floor board if you have to have 12s''.
If your not worried about having to use the whole back seat for seating take a good look at the 60/40 sitting in the back and lift one of them and put a box in one of those spots.

that is what i am doing, i have two 12" kicker comp subs. i currently have them in a sealed box taking up the 60 portion of the rear bench........i am currently building a slot port box so that they will take up only the 40 part of the bench and then i can seat two people in the back.

or you can try to do a floating box, mount the box the the cealing, in a position so that you get max head room. i've seen it done in an expedidtion, looks sick but i am not sure how it will work in a truck.

good luck

Exclamation Change of heart...

Well, after careful consideration of this matter (and after a friend told me he might want my subs), I've decided not to put the two 12" L7 Solobarics in the Black Screw. Instead, I've opted to go with four 8" L7 solobarics. First of all, I figured making the box for this would be much easier. Secondly, these subwoofers wouldn't require as much room as the 12's do. The box I plan to make encompasses the entire space directly below the back seat, with all four subs facing outward. I believe by extending the box as far back as it will go, I can obtain a good amount of airspace required for these subs. Good or bad idea?

Are you talking about all the space under the back seat?

I think that's a good idea. You could even go with 10's if you wanted. That's essentially what I'm doing. I ordered a box for dual 10's from Supercrewsound.com last week, hopefully it'll be here the middle of next week. I had the amp installed today. Who would have thought a Punch 200 would fit under a power drivers seat! Anyway, I still have the subs mounted in the box that I had them in when I had them in my sedan and let me tell you... the bass isn't just big... it's stupid big. I had turn the gain way down on the to make it tolerable.

Anyway, I just thought I'd remind you that you didn't have to step all the way down to 8's unless you just wanted to.

Four 8s sound like a good idea...
Will have more cone area than a pair of 10s and about as much as a single 15. How much volume will you be able to squeeze from under the seat?
