New Subs & Box

Just finished up the box and installing the subs...
A pair of Resonant Engineering 8s in a 1.05 cube box tuned to about ~32 hz. Sounds great!

Hey man, looks good That bottom pic is pretty cool.

I havent been on the boards for a couple days or I woulda said something earlier. It seems like if your not well known you dont really get your post replied to very much around here.

Ive been wanting to get some of these to maybe help out my 12 and I was wondering if you can actually FEEL the bass or not? Thanks

Thanks for the comliment.
Oh you can definitely feel the bass...

I wouldn't recommend mixing sub sizes... if you want more output you might try a ported box.

Looks great. Did you make or buy your box? How many watts are you sending them? I'm sure they do very well in a single cab.

Dupuis,
I made the box, no pics of the construction though... I was too excited to get it finished. They are getting roughly 300w a piece from my amp, but the gain is turned waaaay down. Plenty of output for a reg. cab and the SQ is awesome! Also I must thank you man... it was your review that really sold me on trying out these subs.

Brain Bypass,
The hole on the side is the vent/port that tunes the enclosure. It actually extends back into the box 17 7/8" and is 4"x2"

i figured it had to be a slot port, but it was a smaller cross-section than i have seen before. nice setup you got there

is your port stuffed with poly fill? i tried that on mine, but it all blew right out!

Major props on the setup, and much respect for buildin' it. I used to have a 97 F-250 NB Style Reg-Cab (before I got my new Screw) and had hell tryin' to find a good system setup that would fit back there. I finally had to settle with a pre-made sealed box and a set of 12s runnin' off a 600w amp. Lookin' at yours, if I can figure out a way to make a decent box in the short space I have to work with, I am definately doin' it. Regardless, it looks as though that system pounds in that reg cab!

What are the dimensions on your box ?

Also is that 300 W peak or coninuous, and what model MTX amp is that?

Your set up is something like what i plan on doing for mine, so thanks for posting.

The box is 15" tall, 42.5" long, and the top depth is 4" and the bottom depth is 7.5".
Gross internal volume is about 1.36 ft^3.

The amp powering it is a MTX RT2600 2-channel amp that is bridged to 4ohms. It gives 600w @ 4ohms bridged @ 12.5v so the subs are seeing at least 300 RMS (continuously). The gains are turned way down though...
