Standard cab Q&A?

I have an 01 standard cab flardeside f150 and i want to do something with the stock system. My first priority is to get some subs i was thinking along the lines of 2 jl 10w3s or some RE8s, but i am not sure what will fit, or what class D amp would work for the specific set up? Would i have to get a new head unit if I were to get subs? or anything else i would need to add?

Also i plan on getting two infinty 6.5 components later.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry I guess that would be two infinty 5x7s, to replace the stock speakers in the doors.

you can use the stock head unit with a line-out converter, but i don't reccomend it. the difference in soud quality by changing to a good head unit was just amazing to me. i though i would miss the changer in the dash. i did, for about 5 seconds.

as far as recommending equipment, i nned more info. how much are you looking to spend. how do you want it to sound, what kind of music do you listen too. i would suggest, if you are on a tight budget, JBL amps. they can be had cheaply online, and put out a lot of good power for not much $. they have a few different monoblock amps made for subs. if you go with the w3's you could get a jbl 600.1, and it would be plenty loud. RE subs are great too from what i hear.

Why not do the components? They'll fit, and probably even sound more crisp - if you fill the gaps!
