would there be any way to build a custom box for subs to go behind the bench seat of my 1990 f150 or should i look for tubes?

 

I have seen subs placed behind the bench seat in a reg. cab truck before. You have to move the seat forward a little so if you are a tall guy this may be no good. It will definitely have to be a custom box and will probally take some trial and error if you want to max out your box volume capacity.
