I just got my truck yesterday and want to get new speakers in it. I dont see any screws in the door. Am i not looking in the right place or is there a trick to getting it off. I have a 01 f-150 reg cab with the pwr locks and windows. Thanks all

 

Pull on the plastic piece behind the inside door handle. It will pop off pretty easy if you pull from either the front or the back-cant remember which side comes off easier. Behind is a screw with a phillips head-take it out. Next-pull off the plastic on the B-pillar(this is the pillar that is right next to the window to the rear)
There is another phillips headed screw back there-take it out. Next the power window/locks panel needs to come off(the panel that has the window and door lonk buttons on it) Pull on it at the front and it will come off. They you need to either unplug the harnesses or stick the whole thing through the hole in the door panel that it covers up(this is what I useually do). Now just pull up on the whole door panel and pull it away. Make sure you unplug the light in the panel.

If you have an xtended cab then take out the 2 screws that hold the window clamp thing to the door. Next pull off the top plastic part. Once its off you will see a nut, screw, and some pop thing.

Take them out then pull up and out ont he panel-and thats it.

Hey thanks for the help. I am going to go and try that tonight when I get home. The factory speakers are killing me. I cant wait to build a box that will fit behind the seats and get my sub in there too. I saw you were from NE. I used to live in W. IA. And I want to get back there to truck county.

I just noticed you have a reg. cab. Good thing I didnt go into depth on how to get the back door panels off or i woulda felt stupider than I already do
