Could you extrapolate the Cliff's Notes from the 19+ pages of mostly pointless posts for those of us who can't spend 3 hours reading a forum thread.

There an excellent sub from an excellent company. It took me many months of deciding whether to go with Adire or Elemental subwoofers. In the end I went with Adire, but feel that the ED's would have been an excellent choice as well.
Use'm, love'm. You'll be happy. For me, I'll pass on the subs. Found my sub company. But there amps, the TruTech's? Now those I WANT.........

Shockwave, I'm confused

I'm honestly torn right now about what to believe... thats the only place I've read bad about eD and some of it doesn't make sense... There's also a thread here :
http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1296
Where Ben defends himself against the stuff brought up at CA.com.

Can the eD users here on this forum give their personal experience with their products and service please.

I would say its mainly the internet drama queens stirring up trouble. They love to take any little thing and turn it into an end of the world scenario.

I've never had problems with them. All I ask is that a subwoofer does what the spec sheet says and that they are quick with getting the item shipped out. Anything more than that is just icing.

The 3 year warranty is nice but I really don't care much for warranties. My theory with high end mobile audio gear is that if it breaks then it was probably broken . 98% of the time when I recieve items for repair/replacement (not often) the cause of the destruction was either installer error (slipping screw drivers, metal shavings in voice coil gap), installer negligance (improper enclosure, wiring, amp choice), or operator error (gains/EQ/loud/Bass boost all cranked at the same time).

Please do note that ED is a direct competitor with my business yet I still own an e12A.

Yes they have had problems...That thread is just a bunch of drama as stated...ANY company..I repeat ANY company will have growing pains when it's a start up like eD is..I've had no problems with my 12 A's....Most of the guys there like Lloyd is just slinging mud, It's a personal thing ...Not a business thing..

It means when they first started I was interested in them. In hindsight, I'm VERY glad I didnt go with them.

Some of the guys complaining there ARENT "drama queens".

Do as you wish with the information.

That post of yours was dated June 5, 2004! So in the last seventeen days you've decided that ED is a horrible company? Please, do us all a favor and stop flaming for the sake of flaming.

Anyone saying negative information about any audio manufacturer should first either own the product and try it out themselves or only repeat the good experiences they hear about. If you can't do that then I say keep your mouth shut because your blowing smoke out of your preverbial backside. I personally have never owned and ED. I do have a few friends that have them and love them. So if asked an opinion on them I tell them what I know. The trouble is most of the people talking all the ED sucks trash have never even owned the product so don't believe everything you hear.

On another note, yes ED did have some troubles a year or two back. The trouble they had was seperation of the voice coil former and cone. Which, I am sure they warrantied the ones that had the defect. Ask ED about their problems they had. They will more than likely tell you what caused it and how they corrected it.

Anyway, that's my $.02

Had a big flame typed out, but took it back.

Anyways, my point isnt that eD drivers are horrible. My point it they have a higher then usual fail rate, and the problems were KNOWN about yet they continued production.
I didnt buy Matt Overpecks drivers when he was in business because of his business ethics. He made drivers that everyone raved about, but I didnt like him.
Same here. eD obviously knew about the problems yet continued production. eD dioesnt strike me as a stand up company. Sure, the drivers that work may be great. But I dont like to take chances.
As for spamming and flaming? Maybe you should get out of your hole and find out who some of these people are in that thread. SOME of those posters have more experience in car audio then this board COMBINED.
