Replacing factory speakers in 97 f150 SuperCab
I have a 99 so its a little different, but I think I remember how 97's come off. Take off the triangular piece to the front(its exactley opposite of the outside mirrors) and there should be screws back there to take out. Next, take off the plastic piece that runs verticle on the B pillar(its should just pop off, like the triangular piece) and there is a screw behind there that you have to take out. I think thats all the screws, I cant remember exactley. Then you have to take out teh part where the power window/lock controls are. Just pull up on the front of this piece and it sill pop up. Then you can either unplug the wires going to it or shove them down throught the hole where it goes.
Next, jsut pull up on the whole door panel and out. But make sure you dont pull it to far away, because you have to take the socket out of the panel. Its the socket/bulb that is to the back of the panel that comes on when you open the doors. That should be it.
Now the back might be different from 97 to 99, so im not sure if its exacley the same, but here is how mine come off.
Take out the 2 screws that hole on the thing that you pop out to open the rear window. once that is done, pull out on the top panel. It is jsut held on by clips. Next, if you look at the top of the bottom panel, you will see a screw, a nut, and a push clip thing that has to come out. ( the push clips or whatever they are called come out by just pushing the center in, then when you put them back in, push the center halfway out from the back, put it in the hole, then push the center in flush with the reast of the clip thingy)
Once all those are out, just lift up on the panel and pull it away from the door.
That should be it

Big Buck,
Good instructions from Bartak1. If you are like me a picture is worth a thousand words. A Haynes repair manual will give you detailed instructions and pictures on removing panels and many other things. I used mine when I replaced the door actuator and it was great.
