They are rated at 18 HZ for the 12" at 96.4 db. A very efficient speaker. The minimum enclosure is .7 and like I said we have 1.2 cubic feet for each. I also have installed insulation to tighten things up with all the power.
'Ratings' mean little. Audiobahn's mean nothing.
96.4db at what wattage, measured at what distance, on what plane, in an enclosure, free air, in vehicle, anechoic....?
In dbdrag it doesn't matter how small of a sealed enclosure the sub wants...its how large of a ported enclosure you can fit. A resonant frequency of 18hz would be an aweful thing for an spl sub. Something over 30hz would be much better.

Deus it is rated at 1 watt at 1 meter. I cant tell you what type of enclosure they are in or free air. I know that a ported enclosure is supposed to be louder, however, I did not want to remove the back seat of my extended cab at this time. The sealed enclosure is dropping serious quad though. I know that 18 HZ is not good for DBdrags. I just was stating what they are rated at from 18 HZ to 500HZ I believe. Not sure on the high side though. Shockwave you can measure high DB by placing the mic inside a ported speaker. I would find it hard to believe a single sub system would produce anything over 135 DB. Just my opinion.
Rac,
Not Port Wars or Outlaw here my friend. I mean legal on the dash. Granted, scores have dropped alot with the new mics that came out, but yes a good install with a high end sub (and, to be honest here Audio bahn is NOT high end) will put you over 140 without much trouble. Heres just 1 video for proof. And this isnt even in a hatchback, which are notoriously easily to get loud in anyways...

Also, a 96 db efficiency on an Audiobahn peice of equipment is....Well.....Impossible.

Nice video!!
Yes, many people have hit over 140 with a single sub set up. Here a few quotes.
"nate munson still holds the world record for loudest SPL with a single 15" set 2 years ago. he hit like 170.1 i think with a single DD 9515."
"superior sounds did a 174.4 (IIRC) on the new sensor last year at drag finals with a single sub...whatever that may be worth"

I would assume by your comment that you have owned audiobahn equipment before. If not then what are you comparing to? What do you have now? It may not be "high end", but it sounds great to me and everyone else within 2 to 3 blocks. I have had many other products starting way back in the day with a Sanyo 50 x 50. Audiobahn has impressed me with power and price. You state that 96 db is impossible, so then they must be falsely advertising. Not that it is impossible, just not probable these days. Take a look at there site maybe that will help. Anyways I will let you guys know what happens Saturday. Ohh I almost forgot we changed to 1/0 cable with a 15 farad cap last night. It helped out quite a bit.

The one thing about Audiobhan that impressed me was that every single Alum12 I sold (the first year model) came back. Every damn subwoofer was destoryed with the last pair managing to hold together for almost 8 months. Now I realize that was years ago and Audiobahn has changed a bit but I'll stick with proven high end brands.
To start ,Yes I have an Audiobahn amp running my subs...I think they are a mid grade product...More money put towards flash than others..Not saying thats bad if thats what your looking for,I was..Show truck...Just look at most sound competition vehicles..not a whole lot of Audiobahn out there..Yes / No?
Also from what I've seen...Not heard in person..Those snail shells are quite impressive
Although not a new idea, still impressive...
I'll go back to my hole now..Hi Deus....

In no way do I wanna endorse the bahn's, but the ALUMQ's I've been beating on are hanging in there. They are not the loudest sub out there but they do hang with lots of high level play, well mine are anyway's. They are 2004 models. They sound great down to around 30hz and do play down to 24hz audible. everything bellow that they go to crap bottom out spit fart and smoke. They don't have the high excursion motors like the nicer subs. I think mine are 11 MM, that ain't ****.
I do own a 2002T that drove me nuts. That damn fan just bugged me for some reason. It will find it's way into my boat when it gets redone right along side a set of alum10q's and some killer diamond coax's. Then i'll rip all that out one piece at a time and replace it all. The heat it will have to play in will be in the 120's so that little fan can just blow away.

The general consensus was Audiobahn wasnt that good. In fact, quite alot of people said it sucked. I even talked to a former Team Audiobahn competitor about the stuff. He quit the team because it couldnt hold up.
So, my opinion isnt based from first hand experience, but rather others stories. Yes, someoen will always have something to say about a product. I can find people who dont like the W7. But the point is, with the number of people who were complaining about Audiobahn it seemed there actually was a quality problem there. Then when I talked to the former team member it cinched the deal for me. I'll NEVER run Audiobahn, because I want a product that comes from a company who is quality oriented, and not trying to make the product look good in a Honda with a big wing on the back.
