Bed Cut??

I was thinking about having a bed cut done on my f150 supercrew and was wondering if anyone has done this or has pictures of it. Due to space limitiations of the rear seat, I am unable to get the heart pounding bass that i have been looking for.

Music Systems has recomended that I do a bet cut to house two 12" kicker l7's.

Any ideas?

You don't need to cut your cab/bed to have good bass.

Right now I have two kicker 10" L5 under the seat in a custom enclosure being powered by a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 Amp. It hits, but its not the heart pounding bass that i am looking for. I want people to not only hear me coming, I want them to feel me coming. I want stupid bass, any ideas?

You could always remove your back seat and put all you want.
When you go to sell it just put it back. Seems alot better than having to deal with a hole in your bed/cab.

Naaa, growin up aint fun at all. I say cut up the crew

Do you honestly have to ask ol Roush if it hit's hard, look at that thing. Very nice Roush. I've never looked at that side of you before, very nice!

If your really needing that screw area for people then cut it up. If your not hauling people or kids in the back, you got more than enough room to put a box behind you that will knock the mirror off.

I have found more room to carry my crap around like this than when it was stock.

You want BASS? Just take out your back seat and put you TWO 13" JL W7s in that bad boy! I have a friend that has two in an S-10 Extreme and you can feel them 1/2 a mile away going down the road.

I can be sitting in my truck, windows up with my stock stereo turned up loud and still hear him over mine at a distance. Its crazy stupid loud.

I saw that if that is what you want go for it. Not really my preference for a system but to each his own. An option for you, instead of hacking up the bed would be to get a snug top on the truck, remove the back glass and put the gasket in to join the snug and cab and build a box taking the entire bed to house something stupid like 6 15"s or 4 18"s with about 5-10k watts. You could do the same basic thing with a cut through but the snug would be much easier to return the truck to normal without any tell tale signs of midification.

I dread being next to people like King Ranch in traffic

Cause I know while he's within a quarter mile of me I won't be enjoying my own music, and as far as I can tell he's not even enjoying his either. I mean, honestly, what would be the difference between you blasting your base and me coming up behind you and pounding you repeatedly on the back of a head with a baseball bat? I don't see much. Please take my comments tongue in cheak, not really tryin to start a fight here or anything, but it seems lik excessive bass overpowers the other aspects of music to such an extent that all you really hear is pounding. Then it's not even really music anymore, is it? Why even pay for actual music CD's? Sooo overpriced for this purpose, just make a tape of someone pounding a drum repeatedly and then play that.

I only crank up the bass when stuck in traffic, that way people stay away and I get a clear road.

I think it's worked in one neighborhood at least. Every morning we would get stuck at this red light 2x because people take their time when it turns green. So I and a couple buds started pounding bass and I guess the residents complained enough that they changed the light timing to turn green twice in a row. We now just wait at that light only once.

HAHAA

Good point. Actually now that I think about it when somebody's behind me pounding the bass, I pay extra attention to my light and almost try to anticipate that sucker like I'm on a drag strip just to get away from them faster.

I am going to end up doing the bed cut after all. I know its going to hack up my truck, but let there be bass! I will post pics as soon as its done.

Here is the game plan:

BedCut
2 Kicker 15" L7 Woofers
2 Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 Amps (one per sub)
1 Phoenix Gold Powercore
1 Custom Ported Enclosure

I think this is the perfect recipe for bass!
