Question bass buzzzz

HI ALL,

Brand new to group (first post) I have an 04 F150 SC (2 Months). I was wondering if just upgrading the speakers would stop the BUZZ in the cab while playing music with some bass. It seem that by the time i turn the volume down or reduce the bass enough to stop the buzz it's to low to enjoy. Or does it have to do with the doors and panels vibrating (resonating). I thought i had read about this some where on this message board but haven't been able to find it. I plan to upgrade both the HU and speakers (realy like grayflair's system) but didn't want to end up with the same thing after the upgrade.

Thanks For Any Input.

Sounds/Feels like the door panel? How would you begin to find the source?

Use your ears and hands. If you touch something and the rattling goes away, there is your problem.

Remember that the stock speakers are trying to play the whole fz. range but if you replace the door speakers and add a sub the door speakers will not be playing as low with the crossover, so a lot of that noise will proberly go away.

If this is not the Audiophile system, it's probably just the 5x7's "buzzing" in other words just not able to hang in there.

There should be no rattles or resonating going on in an 04. They are really tight! If there is, you should bring it up with a dealer. I've heard of sound deadning panels coming loose on door panels and causing the stereo to "rattle". This is warranty work unless you wanna fix it yourself.

Sorry to take so long getting back. I have tried everything and can't find anything loose. It is not an Audiophile. I did notice that on some songs it did sound like the speakers just couldn't keep up. I plan to install new ones this week end and see if that helps. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
Thanks All,

bishent,

If your going to have speakers installed make sure you get a little dynamat or other sound damping material and install it inside the door directly behind the speaker and even a little aournd where the speaker and door metal meet. It will help reduce any vibrations that could cause your buzzing.
