Sub Woofer Question

I had a question regarding ohms and hopefully someone can answer this for me.

I have a MTX 251D amplifier. It is rated at 125 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms and 250 watts x 1 at 2 ohms. Does this mean if I buy a 2 ohm sub woofer, the amp will pound at 250 watts?

Any help on this matter will be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes. Or you can get a dual voice coil 4 ohm wired parralel and do the same thing.

yes...

You amp will play the 4ohm sub at 125 watts, two 4 ohm subs at 250 watts, and so on.

With you amp, you can have 1 2 ohm sub, 1-2 4 ohm subs, or multiple 8 ohm subs. As the subwoofer ohm load decreases (in number), the RMS increases.
