cdt cl-61a comps

Anyone know if these will fit in the doors? 02 f-150 ext cab.
They appear to be 6-1/2" mid with 2-7/8" mounting depth.

I just installed those exact speakers in my 02 f150 last weekend.
You have to fabricate an adapter plate. I used 1/2 MDF from Home Depot. You can get a sheet of 2'x4' for about 5 bucks. They fit like a glove. I first fabbed the adapter plate out of 1/4 MDF, but I didnt like how flimsy it felt.

I will post some pics if I get the chance. I installed the 3/4 silk tweets in my sail panels in front of the door handle. Sounds nice.
The tweets pivot also, so you can obtain decent imaging.

The CDT's are a nice setup. You will like them. As big said you will need to make an adapter plate however since they are a touch deeper than the door. The good thing is there is plenty of room to fit the 1/2" adapter and still be able to fit the door panel back on.

If you haven't already bought them I can get you a really good deal on the HD series. It will probably be about what you are paying for the cl-61 set, maybe $20 more. Just let me know if you are interested.

He is most likely refering to the EF-61 or EF-61CV (2003 models #s HD62EF/HD62CV). These speakers can be found on the internet for ~$200 with MSRPs of $300 and $250 respectively. While still very fine speakers...they do not match up to the much more expensive HD62 Professionals ($430 MSRP).

If you are looking for a good and easy 6.5" set up for the front doors try the CDT EF-61CV (HD62CV). Coaxial tweeter mounts make the install much easier as does the standard 6.5" frame.
