Unhappy Confused!

I'm having a bit of a problem here. I want my truck to have a very impressive sound system and i'm trying to accomplish that. But here's where i'm confused. I want to buy the dual 10" sub box for a 2003 extended cab from MusicMoose Audio and put either JL w3v2's or JL w6v2's in it. Now, i cant decide which sub to buy, and that leads to the problem of how to power it.
I want to get as much power out of this as i can and eventually add component speakers. So that means that i need a lot of power. But which amp should i get? It needs to be small enough to fit under one of the front seats since the back seat has no room with the box there. And then theres the problem that the w3v2's are rated for 300 watts while the w6v2's are rated for 400 watts, i need an amp that can power these (trying to get full potential) and be small enough to fit under the seat. I'm looking at getting a Kicker 800.2....But i just dont know.

Can someone help me out?

Also, is there a better spot for the amp than under the seat? I eventually need to add power for the speakers with another amp unless someone knows a better setup.

Well, first, the w6's will obviously give you better sound and volume if set up and powered correctly.

Second, my Orion amp puts out "roughly" 450 watts RMS to a 2 ohm load (bridged), and it's not very big. I believe it's 9x12x2 inch. I don't remember the exact measurements on it. Anyway, that's not too far from 600rms wich will run the w3's pretty good. If you go the w6 route that bumps you up to 800rms and I'm not real familiar with amps that size. As far as what amps are good I can only speak to the Orions. There are a bunch of great amps out there though. If you do a search through the amp and sub boards here you'll find a lot of recommendations, and maybe some threads about amp sizes. Good luck.

My idea

Here is how I'm set up.

I have a Rockford Fosgate 801s, 800watts x1 @ 4 ohms or 400 watts x2 @ 4 ohms. I drive a single 12" Rockford RFD 2212 which is last years model You can get the sub and the amp for $399.00 shipped from tpranzatelli@attglobal.net

They are a registered Rockford dealer so you get full warranty! They sell on EBAY all the time.

I also have two Apline V12 MRVT500's driving two other pairs of speakers, Boston seperates.

All 3 amps are on the back wall behind the seat. I cut out the goofy plastic panel so it shows all the amps and I even squeezed in a 1F rockford cap. I will have pics this weekend.

I have ordered my new Box from the MOOSE and I expect early next week. Can't wait, the box from Supercrew Sound was junk and I sent it back.

It feakin POUNDS and the sound quality is awesome!

Let me know if you have any questions...

Patrick

Oh, thanks. Something else came up. Is it really worth having 2 subs instead of one?
