MTX Thunderform sounds great!!

I searched here for info on the MTX Thunderform for my 03 Screw, but could not find any... So I purchased one anyway to see how it sounds. Here is my lowdown on it, hopefully will help someone in the future.
Purchased loaded Thunderform off ebay for $225.00 (shipped)
Purchased MTX Thunder 282 off ebay for $115.00 (shipped)
The 282 I am running bridged (250rms), max input to the MTX 6000 10" sub is 250rms, so it worked perfect.
Install went easy, had the power wire, speaker leads, ground all ran this weekend. The box and amp came in today. Unbolted the rear drivers side seat (60/40), slid the box in, bolted the seat back down. Put the amp in the little compartment behind the seat, wiring was easy, no need for remote amp turn on wire, this amp dectects signal on the high speaker inputs, and turn on the amp. I am running ALL stock, cd player, speakers ect...
First I have to say, what a fit, it looks like it belongs there, my wife came out to look at it and she asked, "where is it"...
It sounds at least twice as good as I expected, I am very impressed with it.

The amp that comes with the loaded mtx thunderform boxes is complete sh@t!

It's basically a 2inchx2inch circuit board with one capacitor on it. What a joke. ended up using a jl audio amp instead. The woofers themselves (2 10's) are "okay" but are definitely to be considered a temporary bass solution until better woofers can be obtained.

the jl 10w0's fit in the enclosure perfectly, that's what i'm going to step up to in the near future.

The box itself is very nicely made and matches interior color perfectly. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the empty box and then spent the rest of the money on quality woofers. Just my 2 cents.

what about for a personal like me that has a 99 f150 ext cab. should I get one of these cause i think they only have a model with 2 8s. Or should i grab one with 2 10s from a different model ford and try to jack the seat up. Any ideas if this can be dont cause i dotn wanna roll with 8s unless I have to. My only problem is finding room for my amps. Right now I have removed my jack but the doby digital box is under the pass. seat for my dvd player and I have a rockford 750 x pushing my jl 3 way speakers. I dont know what to do.

Sub Box

I personally like the Pro Box and that's what I have in my 99.

You could put the AMP's themselves under the seats, or if you get boxes that go under the seat then mount the amps behind the seats.

So the stock cd player has RCA outputs on it?? If so that makes my pocket less thin.

LOC "Line output converter"

Quality ones can be had at davidnavone.com or standard issue from Radio Shack.

I think this is the first good review about the Thunderform I've seen on here. I did a search once before ordering one and I've read anything from poor material to bad sound and so on. I then gave up on that idea and am now working on putting subs in the bed along with a cover of course.

I need to get some of these or they are already on the head unit?

Take a look there. There are lots of them on the net. I have the N-774V. Works very well. Can go full volume and there is zero noise.

It depends if you have the Stock HU or not. Most aftermarket decks have RCA's but stock hu's need this to put amps on them.

You may want to think about going with an ajustable line convertor. It helped me ajust my levels when I added the subs. I'm running 2 subs off 2 channels and spitting the other 2 channels to go to my 4 door speakers. Just easier if you plan on adding subs.
