Frequency?

At what frequency do you cut your subs off at? Just looking for opinions.

Do you mean the natural roll off of the subs, like how low will they go? Or, what do we cross them over at? In my system with the Utopias and the w7s I hope to go no higher than 80Hz (low passed), assuming the Utopias can handle the 80 to 70 Hz well enough (I think they will ).

I just don't like to go a whole lot higher than 80 Hz, and usually the lower the better. Once you get too high it tends to draw your sound stage to the back (or whever your subs are) and instead of them producing the lower frequencies they will act more like midbass drivers if crossover too high.

So really its hard to say the ideal point to cross them over at because it will change in every system, as I said before generally the lower the better. Get your comps playing as low as they can while still sounding good and then just have your subs pick up where they cut off. If it is too high (120ish+ in my book) then look to get a better or deticated midbass driver.

Had my Illusion Nd-12 low passed at 50hz and my Illusion Nd-8.1 8" 2-way component set high passed at 50hz (12db/octave on both). Once you go 8"s it is damn hard to put up with a 6.5" and especially a 6x8/5x7.

I typically keep my 12W3 crossed over at 50hz with an 18db/octave slope. Then again, on some older classic rock, I find I have to change to 80hz, 12 db/octave slope to get any low end response. I change around a lot according to whether I want a smooth transition in the sub (24db/slope)or a sharp transition (12db slope).......
