trying to fit it in the L
trying to fit it in the L
I have Diamond Audio D7 amps from my last vehicle and want to put them in my L but I am not sure how this will be done and still fit subwoofers in too.
Here is the amp Length:24 3/4" Width:10 5/8" Height:3"

With it in mind that 2 of those will be behind the seats; im looking for some SQ orientated subs. For space reasons i was thinking maybe the JL 8w7's. The sub amp puts out 400x2 at 4 ohms or 1600x1 at 4 ohms.

Those amps will not fit under the seat so you will have to build an amp rack to go behind the seat. As for subs...forget about the 8w7s. There is many a 12" which can be fit back there. You could even fit an Illusion nd-15. My recommendation is to stick with a long stroke, high quality single 12".
I have to agree with Deus on the 12" recommendation. Those amps are just way to big for your truck though meat. I think you should go ahead and box em up and ship em to me
I give you $20 bucks apiece
!!! I know I know it is very generous and kind hearted of me to keep your best interest in mind but hey I gotta look out for ya!
Now seriously, For the L I suggest stacking the amp vertically (lengthwise) and getting a good fan to circulate air between the two. So essentially your dimensions would then be about 24 3/4" Width:10 5/8" Height:7.5" but then you very well also be able to fit 2 - 10", 1 - 12", or maybe even 2 - 12" subs back there.
As far as subs go I found a new favorite for SQ recently. It is the Soundstream Exact. Pretty awesome sub with super low Fs (23hz if I remember correctly) and low Qts (below .39) with respectable box requirements. This thing had super fast attack and decay, truly phenominal sound that I would put up against any other SQ sub out there. Might at least want to find a dealer and give them a listen you may like them.

I'll have to listen to those subs i havent seen them before.
I figured that i can put one amp on the back of the cab and one on the floor. Then with some fiberglass work i can get about 1 cubic foot of airspace for sub enclosures on each side. I have some 12" infinity kappa perfects from and old system but i would rather get something that sounds a little better. I figure i can also mount the crossovers for the Q series mb quarts under the seat. Is there a better place to put the crossovers? Im bi-amping the components so ive got to run an extra set of wires.

The crossovers you can pretty much put anywhere you can fit them. Many put them mounted to the doors under the panels of course. As far as sound goes if you like the Infinity Perfects you would love the Soundstream Exacts. They are probably very close in comparison in the SQ arena but the biggest difference is that the Exacts will play lower than the Perfects. You also might want to think about the Tarantula subs depending on how they match up to your power output on the diamonds. They are sweet amps by the way. Also another awesome SQ sub would be Crystal or Oz. Between the 4 I suggested I am sure you will like one of them better than the Perfects. Don't get me wrong. The perfect is an awesome sub and closest in comparison to the Exact but the Soundstream Tarantula, Soundstream DaVinci, Crystal and Oz subs will be almost as accurate but play much much louder. So it depends mainly on what you want to go with.
Great SQ + SPL choose Tarantula, OZ, Crystal
Great SQ + awesome power handling choose DaVinci
Best SQ + ok power handling Infinity or Exact

Just a thought if you're real handy and creative. I've seen amps like that mounted in the roof of pickups before. I have no idea the work involved in such a thing though. That, and if you're 6'5" you might not have the headroom.
As far as subs I've alwas been a JL fan, but I'm sure all the other mentioned would sound excelent. Another thought is if your just going for good sound is to put in 4 10's of whatever brand you decide. 10's might give your more flexability with space too.
Nice amps btw. I wish I had the money to burn on one. Maybe someday.
