Removing door panels

Removing door panels

Hey i got a 2000 F-150 EXT cab and i just bought 4 memphis 5x7 to put in the original speaker spots. Hears the problem i dont see how to remove my door panels to get to the speakers in the front and rear.

Pry up the window/lock switch panel, disconnect wiring.
Pry out plastic door handle cover, unscrew screw.
Pull out plastic trim piece that goes up the side of the door by window, unscrew screw.
Lift door panel up and then out.

This is from my '97. It should be fairly similar for yours.

BTW - you CAN reuse the rivets. Push in the center part a little until it clicks. Then use a flatblade to wedge the rivet out. Then just pull that entire center part out, push it in one click (it will stick out some) and then put it back in, then push the center back to flush.

If they break, you can get new ones for less than $2 at autozone...

hey thx for the help. Thats like a great tutorial on how to remove your door. I already got all my doors off today tho before i got your reply i just went and looked at it. Its all prety easy just pops on and off with a couple screws too. BTW- your door assembly looks the same just so u know its like the 2000s

Yeah it really isnt that hard.

Once you figure out that those 2 door trim panels just pop off, it's pretty much self explanatory from there...
