Audiobahn performer subs

Ok, Im almost certian I posted this before, but I cant find it(even searched)

Anyway, ive decided not to get the kenwoods I talked bout eirlier, and I'm just gonna get one.

So, I has lookin at the crutchfielld catolog, and i found a Audiobahn 10 inch performer series sub

----> http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...AWC10T&g=67600

So can anyone tell me if audiobahn is good, as far as durability and reliability? any thoughts appreicieated

Also, its a DVC 4ohm, so If I wire it in Parallel, it will only but a 2 ohm load on my amp, right?

So, if i do that (wire in parallel) and stick say a 1x400 at 2 0hms, ill be givin the sub 400 watts? thanx

Yea that is correct on the ohm load. Here is the same sub for half price. http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/430 This place can get audiobahn cheaper than most places. They are decent subs for the price. I got some more help for you. A subwoofer is much like a resistor. If you get a dual 4 ohm subwoofer. It is like having 2 four ohm resistors. In a series circuit resistants is easy to measure. You just add up the resistors. 4 ohm + 4 ohm is 8 ohm load. The way you wanna wire it is in parallel. The resistance will always be less than the smallest resistor in a parallel circuit. The formula for measuring resistance in a parrallel circuit is 1/ 1/Resistor1 + 1/Resistor2. I wish I could have written that formula a little cleaner, but if you have trouble reading it let me know. It works everytime. BTW That formula shows you how you get the 2 ohm load in a parrallel circuit. Hope this helps. Don't spend more than 50 on those subs. If you wanna spend a 100 dollars or more go with something like elemental designs.

I would suggest a different sub....Yes I have a LARGE Audiobahn amp waiting to get installed(by me)..Most people aren't really impressed with the amp I have but I got a good deal...Anyway as much bad things have been said about Audiobahn amps...The're subs are 10 times worse..I have read endless posts on car audio sites about how Audiobahn subs blow apart very easily...I am not doing a biased post here I OWN audiobahn products...Go for different subs man.... I'll do it again call me the new 2 trucks.... www.edesignaudio.com check out the K series ..new low cost sub...

I own an audiobahn amp also and I wouldn't buy there subs. There amps are pretty decent in my opinion. I heard the subs distort at high volumes. I guess that is why there subs are so cheap. One elemental design would be much better.
