Speakers need grills?

I'm not an audiophile but managed to get some new Pioneer speakers into my truck thanks to some on this board. Here is a question, the old speakers had grills on them. The new ones did not come with grills. I installed them without the grills. Is this a problem? Are grills a necessity?

Cool

Congrats on the new speakers.

Grills are not necessary; they are for protection from fingers, sliding seat stuff, etc.

If yours are mounted behind the door panels, you'll be fine...

Plus depending on your speaker, they look sweet thru the door panel.
