Looking For...

Hey Gang,

Just curious about where the best place to order some 6.5 MB Quart Components (P-Series or Q-Series) or 6.5 JL Audio Components (XR650-CSI). These will go in the front doors of my 1997 F150 Lariat Stepside. Has anyone gone this route?
I have Kicker Components in there now and they do ok but just want something a little more lively. I already have a hole in the door for the tweet just above the factory location so I have to stay with a 1" flush tweet. Running low power Alpine/70W per channel for the fronts, Kicker Mid-Bass in back doors with separate Alpine Amp, 8" Kicker Comp VR Sub with Alpine bridged, and Eclipse head unit. I probably should have done a 5-channel amp but old school made me think cleaner sound with three separate amps.
Thanks for your comments.

Jeff

Cool

Do a search on eBay for MB Quart. I just did and there were plenty to choose from (149 items).

A friend of mine just bought two sets of the P series for $160.

Not bad, IMHO.

I am curious as to what type of kicker midbass you have in the rear doors? I have been looking at the rmb6 and the rmb8's and am curious as to what they sound like. I would be running them very similar to what you have, meaning with either a 6.5" or 6x8 component set in the front door and a sub under the rear seat. Does having the midbass back there seem to affect your soundstage at all? Pictures of your setup would be great if you have any.

Mark,

I am actually running the Kicker 6" SubBass Speakers in both sides of the back door panels and have them High Passed on the Alpine Amp Cross Over at the 75hz setting. Basically they just give me a little rear fill and if doing it over, would probably do a true mid-bass woofer or even a coax. And then my sub is a 8" Kicker CompVR in a single Q-Logic enclosure for the F150. The sub's soundstage is quite good in this application in the truck cab area. I am happy with it, but want to replace the front door Kicker separates with some MB Quart or JL Audio separates. I would be happy to send you some pics and will try on this thread, but if they don't come through, send me your direct email address.
