Uhmm, so they work when the radio is on? If so it may be your head unit. I would recheck the wiring front to back top to bottom. If that checks out try hooking something else up to the sub amp and see what happens. If you have an adapter around that switches a headphone jack to RCA's that would work. Make sure your head unit is hooked up right too. It's possible a faulty ground or something could cause it to act strange. More detail of the problem may help in determining a solution.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like your remote wire isn't hooked up correctly. What kinda radio do you have and how do you have the remote wire hooked up???

Gada,

Invalid is on the right track with regards to the remote wire. Check to see if you have the remote and antenna wires connected together coming out of the head unit. In some cases when the antenna wire goes to a rest state it actually acts as a ground (depends on circuit topology). If this is the case then what you have is the amp cycling on/off rapidly and causing the subs to jump. If your HU has both antenna control wire and remote amp control wires be sure that you are only using the amp remote wire to the amps. It could be other things as well but with the info you provided thus far this is what stands out in my mind.
