i have two tens and need to replace factory speakers, so i can get some better high range sound qulity and mid. What works good to just unplugg factory front and rear, and then just wire in four new ones. How nescessary is it to have an extra amp pushing them, i have a alpine 7897 that can push 50Wx4. so whats teh deal, i am new to replacing speakers. i wanna hear some clearer highs compared to the bass with the subs.
recomendations would be great, brand, size ect.
thanks

If you are looking for plug and play Infinity Kappa's 5X7's are a solid choice. They don't require an external amp to make them sound good yet they will handle all the power you would want to throw at them. They use an external crossover and are for lack of better description a component type set-up in a factory configuration. Wiring adapters are available so you don't even have to cut the original leads if you so choose.

I would recommend getting a 2-way component set for the front doors and run an amp to the crossovers.
It sounds good.
I have never heard the infinity once put right in place of the stock, but i wonder how they would sound, with out an amp pushing them. You'll have to check the RMS on the speakers, your alpine head unit can push 50X4 but the RMS is probably more like 25X4. Look into it.
Also do you plan on re running new wires for the new speakers?

ya you are right it is somewhere around 20 somethn RMS. I am not sure what the wiring situation will end up being. I already have one amp ......where can i fit a second one if being used for speakers.........ahh seems to complicated
those infinity kappas are 2-100 RMS power handling........could be very worth a try if i am just replacing the four factory turds. also does anyone know the actual specs on the factory speakers?
