Sub wired to 2 negatives?
Sub wired to 2 negatives?
I just looked at my wires that are connected from my box to my amp, and they were both wired to negatives. I was like "WTF". So, I put one of them to the bridged positive, and now there is definitely a difference in sound. My bass is so much better now. Would the wiring hooked up like it was, cause my sub to sound weak?
I am so glad i found this, more bass without spending more money.
I'm never letting my friends hook up my wires again.

Yea, it was wired to two negatives on a two channel amp.
Alpine E-type 12" sub
Kenwood 600w 2 channel amp.
The weird thing was, after I fixed that. I had it turned up pretty loud, and then it just quit. The amp wasn't working. I thought I blew it or something. Somehow the ground had came loose at where I had it grounded. Fixed it, and it sounded awesome.

If you move the ground a little to much it will come loose on you in a second. I wouldn't push an alpine type e at its peak for very long it might blow. Back the gains down don't run it continously at 600 watts. Is it the dvc model with 4 ohm voice coils.

If it is one alpine type e it holds 200 watts rms. You could probably get away with 300 watts to it continuous. I wouldn't push that sub at full power of the amp at all times. Just set the bass to what sounds good and you should be fine.

Not sure how it was working at all being connected to two negatives.
