What to do...

I'm hoping you guys could help me out. I want to upgrade my box in my reg cab F150. Currently I have two cheap boxes I got from the stereo shop, but I don't get much boom. So I want to build a custom box. I've never built a speaker box before but I'm gonna assume its not that hard. can you guys give me some pointers or show me some pictures of your custom boxes. I have two Fosgate 10" subs.

It is easy. I know nothing about wood, but I do have a jigsaw, sander, and a drill. You use 3/4 mdf and you want plenty of liquid nail to seal the box up. You can get the mdf at homedepot for like 19 dollars a sheet. Box building is easy and alot cheaper than going to a stereo shop and having them specially make you one..

Thanks,

Should I ad ports and how many? all the speakers I have are stock the only thing I changed is the head unit I have a Alpine CDA 7995. I have a Fosgate Punch 300s Amp. Can I make the box as big as I want or does it have to be a certian size? I'm willing to give up the middle seat for the box.

It is all according to what you want. If you want tight accurate bass go with a sealed enclosure that is at low airspaces. That is what i made my box for. You need to find the manufacturers spec sheet for your subs. If you have lost the sheet go to rockford fosgate.com and download it. I haven't never messed with ported boxes. On the sheet it will tell you how much cubic feet the manufacture recommends for ported or sealed enclosures. I think sealed enclosure would sound best and be easiest for your tens especially since your starting out.
