Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), you can get it for $15-20 a sheet.

It is paintable and will give a nice finish, but use lots of primer cause it will soak it up.

How many of you have build custom boxes for a reg. cab? I wouldn't mind seeing how you all went about it. Has any one fit 12's while being able to move the seats all the way back? I think I have a way to do it, which is why I am building my own box. Once I finish my sketches, I will get them on here and show y'all.

I think we have the same truck. I put twelves behind my seat and I am about to take them out, because the seats want go completely back and put one ten back there. You have to make the box kinda ackward to get it back there. Basically the back of the box has to be smaller than the front of the box or it want fit. I'm going with one ten. I have the bucket seats in my truck though. It might work better with bench seats.

Here some picture of the box. I made this box over spring break and it was my first try at box building.

Another shot. The amp was hard to get in there.

My second attempt will be this weekend. Hopefully I'll have better results with this speaker.

I built a box for two 12's for my reg cab. I have the bench seat which makes it a whole lot easier.

You gotta post some pics 2trucks1wife. I like the benches better you can get the box out easier. Mine you can't fit a whole box behind my seat without taking the seats out and putting it in. Jesus your gonna have that nine.1 in a regular cab truck. That gonna be crazy.

well i measured all of the specs with both the seats forward and back. My plan is to fit 2 12's and a 1500W amp with the seats all the way back We will see if it can be done. I am sure I can get the speakers to fit, the amp is gonna be tricky. I might have to go with a smaller amp. The box is going to be triangle shaped, with a center section in between both subs for the amp with plexiglass over it. I'm going to throw a neon in that part that flashes to the bass. It will be sweet if I can pull it off. If it works, I will post my specs on here for y'all.

Invalid, if you hate those buckets I'll trade you for the 60/40 split bench

Later

I don't know about all that seat trading, but what you will have to do is mount your amp above the box. Close to the bottom of the window. I doubt you can get it under the drivers seat. That is what i would do.
