Thumbs up Big sound - small footprint

Just installed new speaker system in my F150 SuperCab and it sounds awesome. For those of you looking for clear, tight bass, I highly suggest the Infinity Basslink!!! If you're looking for a boomy sound to shake the car next to you, then you might want to consider regular subs in a non-amplified box, but the Basslink is an AMPLIFIED (read, don't need to find more space that you don't have for the amp) enclosed sub. It contains a 200 watt amp and a 10in sub.

I've paired it up with Infinity Reference 6802s in all 4 doors, and an Alpine MRP-F240 50x4 amp under the passenger seat (yes, the jack now resides in tool box behind passenger seat), and currently, the stock head unit. The installers said it was the best sound they'd ever heard from a stock head unit. But today, I'm installing the Alpine 9815 head to get MP3 playback, and it should improve my sound even more.

Check out my gallery for pics of the sub!

Thumbs up Basslink in Super Duty

I have a Basslink in my 2002 F-250 diesel S'Cab and like it really well. I have it wedged between the driver's seat and the rear passenger's seat and it fit's so tightly I didn't even need to mount it with the enclosed brackets. I casually toss a towel over it (keeps dog hair out as well! Never have too many towels in the truck with my 2 dogs) that's the same color as the carpeting and it just about disappears. I have the remote gain control stashed in the console, which is very convenient. I'm really satisfied with it, especially since I got it for $135 ANIB. I also use the stock head unit, but may end up ditching it after all for a setup that'll read MP3s.

Basslink

I've just got one Basslink, and it compliments the Infinity 6x8s (4) in the doors very nicely. Before I had the Alpine head unit installed, I too was running it off the stock head unit and it sounded great!! Of course, it even better connected to the new Alpine head unit. I didn't even hook up the Basslink remote gain control, as my head unit gives me all the "adjustability" that I need. I bought my Basslink at Circuit City, along with a 4 year extended warranty, but I've seen them for much cheaper on eBay and other web sites. I prefer the extended warranties that stores offer, as I've used them several times in the past to upgrade the equipment after a couple years.

Another great feature of the Basslink is that the unit is a "hard shell' on the outside. There is no speaker travel to worry about. I have mine stuck under the "40%" rear seat, which will lock down only if I put weight on it. The Basslink doesn't suffer any ill effects from being "pinned" to the floor by the seat.
