Question Which direction to face10's in new box??

I am going to be installing some Eclipse Aluminum 10's in my truck, and have a custom box built under my seat which now has been lifted 3 inches. I want to know if you guys think I should face them out into the cab towards the windshield, or facing up towards the underside of the seat.

you need to face the exhaust ports toward a wall or seat.

That is where you get the thump from. Learned that when I installed my 8"Bazooka Tube. Had to face the exhaust port towards my back door.

pretty much after that, it's your preference where you want the speakers to face.

Face them out towards the windshield or face them down towards the floor.

I guess I should have used will be lifted rather than has been-I haven't purchased the lift kit yet, but I plan on ordering it from lmiwelding.com tomarrow, as I have only heard good things about the co. As far as facing the subs out into the truck go, I am just affraid they will get damaged when my drunk friends are kicking around in the back seat, so I'm kinda affraid to leave them exposed. Is there anything I can cover them with, guard ect.?-the eclipse aluminums have a large fat surround which may make it hard to find something to protect them with.

well in that case i would just face them down...mine im mostly doing for show and no one will really sit in the back.

let me know how you like the lift kit once you install it im thinking about getting the 4 inch lift kit. do you think the 3 inch lift kit will be enough?

Face them upwards or possibly back if you could. I heard that those are the best methods in a pickup.

You can put speaker grills over the subs so your drunk friends won't mess them up.

The problem with the Eclipse Alum 10's is that they have a rather bulky Santoprene Surround that sticks way out, most likely making any aftermarket grill not fit...I think I will have to design one myself
