Thumbs up Bazooka Self Amplified

Well, I just had an 8" Bazooka Self Amplified installed in my Super Cab. Fit right underneath the back bench seat. Not a booming speaker, but for those who want thickness without the annoying bass ringing and rattling, I would suggest this. All in all paid about $160 bucks total including installation. Just thought I'd give my offer of opinion.

I have a 150 watt 8" RS Bazooka behind my seat. It has decent bass. It's not bad, but it's not the best either. But I've heard better. It sounds pretty good with the kind of muic I listen to. Which is mostly alternative and heavy metal. It's perfect for the inside of a standard cab pickup. In my opinion of course.

Fit

So will it fit underneath the back seat, or just behind the front seat? I'd like to get the 8, but I want it to fit underneath the back seat if all possible.....

Thanks!

I don't think an 8" bazooka will fit underneath your back seat. Now I have heard of people putting the 6.5" bazooka under there. Try using the search function as there is lot's of info on this board. I have a standard cab and the 8" fit nicely behind the seat. If you have a Supercrew, and you want an 8", you might want to put it behind your drivers seat if you don't haul passengers around. If that is out of the question, your next best bet would be to buy some Q-forms kick panels and a set of component speakers with a decent amp.

Behind the driver's seat will work. I was just thinking for stealth, underneath the back seat would be better. Thanks for the suggestions!

Finally got it installed. I'm not into earth rattling bass, but damn, this thing puts out more than I want....had to turn the gain down. Set it right behind me, pushed up against the back bench seat. Works great....got it off ebay. For someone that just wants a little more umfph to their music, this is definitely the ticket.

Mine came w/the harness(EL8). Pretty simple to install....plenty of bass for my taste.

I think the 6-1/2" bazooka will fit under the back seat. I'm not really sure though. But I'd measure and see if you have enough clearance. The 6-1/2" bazooka is exactly 7" wide overall. That is the clearance you need to make it fit. If that does'nt work, there is some spacers you can buy that raises the rear seat up. Not sure where to find them though. You might want to start a thread and ask if anyone knows where to buy them. But if you don't want to go that route, I'd buy an 8" bazooka and put it directly behind the drivers seat. FYI, the bazooka must be corner mounted to achieve maximum thump. That means the speaker side of the enclosure must face a corner, and be no less than 4 inches from the facing corner. The best bazooka's are the amplified RS series. They are rated at 150 watts RMS.
