Question What's wrong with sound?

I have a Sony CDX-MP70 powering two 6x8 Audiobahn ACX682s in the back. With my stock speakers i could turn the volume up about half way until the sound got way too distorted to listen to. Now with my new speakers, they work, but with no kick at all. What's the problem? The sound was ten times better with the stock speakers. Could somebody point out a problem?

my guess is that the amp inside ur cd player doesnt have enough power to drive the speakers.....so i would recommend buyin a seperate, small amp...maybe 100x2 or somethin like that to power those suckers....tell how it goes with the speakers

Switch the polarity of one speaker. If they are out of phase you will lose some "kick". If that does not work you may need more power (which is great anyways).

Do the new speakers fit the same as the stocks? If not, there may not be a sealed enclosure for each speaker and waves are cancelling out between the front and back.
