Sub Box Size Question

I am still planning my audio system and have decided that, despite my desire to keep the storage space, the sub has to go in the console. I have settled on this design from "LightningCrew":

However, I want to make the box smaller if possible, and eliminate the "ramp" and just make the top flat.

I have pretty much settled on the Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 RFD2208 which has a stated requirement of "sealed box volume 0.1-0.50 cubic feet."

Obviously, with the small box fill is going to be required. But how much?

I am not looking for booming bass, just enough to compliment the rest of the system - essentially I want to know its there, but not be reminded of it with a vibrating truck.

Thanks in advance to the experts for your help.

Since you want the "booming" bass you need to build the enclosure no smaller than .50 and remember that the box specs are after sub displacement.
