Pawleys Island SC here , just south of Myrtle Beach. Used to be real big into Fordtruckworld back in the day when they used to have huge meets etc. FTW is dead now.

Hey Vegas I'm coming your way in may 2012. How do you like the base? I'm going to be over on the AF side of the house.

 

All depends, what's your job? I'm at the AF base but it really depends on what u do. This city is money though I love it.

 

I'm munitions (AMMO). How is the base housing or would you try to get a place off base?

 

I dunno, I live out in mt pleasant which is a really nice area and about 25 miles from work. From what I hear base housing isn't that bad.

 

Whats Up. From Summerville, SC and looking for places to get more custom work done on my truck. I bought it used with most of work done on it but want to do more.

 

I've been stationed here since 03 and would suggest living of base. I live in Summerville about 15 min from base. Trafic here sucks though and no one can drive here...

 

The traffic's not bad, IMO; but you are not kidding about nobody being able to drive. One important thing I learned, after moving down here almost 7 years ago---steer clear of any vehicle with a NATIVE sticker on it. Especially if it is pink.

As for local places for custome work, what sort of stuff are you looking for? I know a few of the local guys around here, and can help you get in touch with them. Not to steer you away from here; but another thing you may want to do is to sign up (or troll-whatever makes you happy) CarolinaHorsepower.com It's a bunch of Charleston area folks who like to go fast and talk smack to each other. There are also a few of us who only care about looking good. If you stop over, make sure you have some photos to post as we will all beat you up for them if you don't. LOL This is assuming, of course, you haven't already found the site.

 

Im in Charleston for the next few weeks working on the AFB.

 

All I can say is, it has to be better than Holloman AFB! That place was really, really bad. South Korea is not any better. I can't even drive here.

Summerville is the place to be I hear. We can't wait to get to Charleston AFB. I hope my year tour was worth it.

Blackout what are you doing at Charleston. Looking to crosstrain in a couple of years. Trying to get some ideas.

 

Im a federal contractor in construction and currently building a fiber optic network for new IP cameras on the flight line.. Charleston AFB is pretty decent and the area around is great and so are the people.. It's weird, Everyone is so friendly. I'll be here for another few weeks, Then headed to Shaw AFB after christmas.
