I have an Escort 8500. Of nearly 6 years of traveling to Valdosta from Statesboro, I was pulled over once.
The escort has saved my *** on every drive there and back. I drive there and back a total of 8 times a month.
No ticket... It was in that little *** town of Allen Hurst (sheriff though still liberty county?) on 84 after Hinesville.
He told me he knew I was speeding and was going to ticket me. I asked him what speed he "clocked" me at and he said he "thought" I was doing at least 80 mph.
Needless to say - No laser - No radar - No ticket. (Or legal means of registering my speed)
I was hauling *** though, at one point around 90 mph because I wasn't paying attention. But, radar detector went off from a store and I looked at my speed and slow down. Damn our V8's are smooth.
I drove away smiling
I used to take U.S. 301 to I-16 to exit 90 lyons, down U.S. 1 to 84.
Now I take Hwy 80/U.S. 25 to 119 through Ft.Stewart and then straight down Hwy 84. About 45 minutes difference. The latter being shorter.
