HOT IDEA PERFECT FOR PHOTOS
for good photos at sunset is the pier and beach in Fairhope, beach on east side of bay shoot the sun setting or trucks on beach with pier or sunsetting in background
Mobile is not exactly on the beach, but you have gulf shores and dauphin island
you have the battleship ALABAMA, submarine DRUM, the battleship now has a large display of aircraft including a B-52 and a SR-70 spy aircraft.
a large collection of armor
The battleship has a large parking lot and lots of space for photos of various vehicles, the city of mobile photographs all the fire apparatus there, lot new cars photoed with battleship in background
by the way, movie UNDER SEIGE filmed on battleship. Also movie CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND filmed at BROOKLEY
lets see other movies, BACK ROADS, LOVE LIZA, AMERICAN LEATHER, DEATH SHIP, MISSION OF THE SHARK, a lot of "B" movies, lots of commericals.
a couple of sources for info
state of alabama tourist info at al.gov or stateofala.gov
look for state tourism department
cityofmobile.org
Gulf shores chamber of commerce
Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce
Town of Dauphin Island
City of Foley has a lot of shopping
some great resturants on the causeway
the orginal oyster house
felixs
the blue gill
ED's seafood house / ED's Shed
new mall on STATE 181 at I-10
the casinos in mississippi

I live only 30 minutes from Mobile in the Pensacola area. I can't make it but for those of you that do...welcome to the most beautiful beaches in the world.
If you make it to Gulf Shores visit the Pink Pony Pub and the Sea-n-Suds resturant that hangs out over the water. I'm 34 and was practically raised on the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL. The PPP and SnS were around even when I was a kid. They have survived hurricane Fredric in 79' , Ivan in 04', Katrina in 05', and many others along the way. They got staying power and are local landmarks. With the wild and uncontrolled condo development in the area they are about the last two original buildings left on the beach in Gulf Shores and are definately worth a visit. You can't miss em. One is completely pink and the other hangs out over the Gulf of Mexico.
