Talking

Just remember................ in the summer. It's hot as h**l around here.
I live in the center of the state(Lexington,SC). The Myrtle Beach area is undergoing explosive growth(land & housing is inflated). Taxes are lower, so that's a plus for now.
If you want the country life(plenty of room,no neighbors, etc) you will have to go outside the metro areas.

I just moved to Summerville, just outside Charleston. It's ok here, I am just used to living out in the country I guess. I moved from South GA, so it's a bit of a change.

Charleston, here. Just west of downtown because I needed to be closer to work than S'Ville. But that's probably where I would have lived if I didn't work on an island. I chose the 20 mile drive each way instead of 30-40.

Talking SC is the place for me!

I live in Lexington,SC. I love my state! We have some weird weather, Beautiful beaches,(as you know), property taxes, a good govenor(in my opinion), great golfing, and a new Sportsman's Warehouse!(it's like bass pro shops without the fancy decor) If you move to lexington, District One is the best. You also will have higher taxes in this district. I grew up in nearby South Congaree, which in district two. Great schools, and lower taxes. South Congaree is also 4 miles from the airport. Straight shot down highway 302. That road will also take you straight to Columbia, in only about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Anywhere around Lexington is good. Richland county has more crime. But, there are good places in richland county to live, where the crime is not an issue. One other thing. We have the beautiful Lake Murray in lexington! Just don't live on the water, unless you love to pay high taxes!! I have lived here my whole life and plan to always do so! I adore my state. I believe that you will too! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, I'll be glad to help!
