Where to buy in Tampa
Where to buy in Tampa
Hey guys, I just joined so I could ask you about purchasing a truck. I'm in Seminole/St. Pete area and I realize there are at least 10 different Ford dealerships in a reasonable driving distance. Anyone have some positive stuff to say about any certain dealers?
To be honest with you I'm not sure I'd buy new, it would have to be too sweet of a deal to pass up...so if anyone knows of a good used lot, I'd appreciate that too.
Thanks.

I've had a decent experience buying from both Walker and Flammer. The last vehicle was purchased thru the credit union which was a total rip off, Flammer wanted to add an additional $400 for the credit union service, as I understand this is what the credit union adds for recommending you to a dealer! Once I refused we got on to dealing. Last is Autoway which I do not like at all, did not like how they sold the vehicle (Chevy) nor did I like how they serviced it for my wife.
well there are alot of dealers in our area. my buddy bought his 03 f150 new from brandon ford. i bought my first truck 04 f150 from gator ford and well after the wreck i knew i was gonna get a second f150 04 or better if i had my way....
well last april i had my way and decided to use my internet to do most of the work i wanted. first i researched the price on the base model then i researched the options fees per factory option i wanted. from there i sent out a little email to a list of dealers in my area.
i had the most success from Ernie Haire Ford. and would mostly recommend Gerald Lovett. but Bill Currie ford had a decent sales rep as well named Roger Obrien. as far as to dealers i didnt even speak too, were Walker Ford's Ken Osbourne....makes a big deal about being nicked named Ozzy at work. and to ask for ozzy when calling....either ways i didnt like how he treated me and how he tried to get my buy when all he was doing was trying to rip me off on a lesser model.
hope it helps, if anything i would say check carsdirect.com and use that price as well to make a smart buy. most dealers will go below the carsdirect.com price to sell ya the vehicle. and HUSTLE....i got 2 tanks of gas and free window tints from it. im sure some of yall can do better

We take the wife's Explorer to Walker and one of the guys I work with worked there. He has been able to give us the "behind the scenes" warts and there aren't many. I've heard to many bad things about Autoway, which happens to be the one we use at work. I'm not impressed with their work. Although I believe Suncoast Ford, posts here, does something with fleet sales at, uh, Suncoast Ford in New Port Richie.
I prefer Walker Ford, but my latest truck came from Brandon Ford.
Walker didn't have the Copper paint and 3:55 non-posi gears, and that was a "must have" for this purchase.
I had no problems with Brandon Ford, and their prices seem to be the best around.
However, the best price is not necessarily the only thing that makes a good dealership. Service after the sale should be very important in your decision.
Good luck, and let us know what you find.
