Does anybody live in or near the Clearwater Beach area. I'm planning a trip to clearwater in july. I've heard it was real nice down there. If anybody could recommend a nice hotel in a good area that's not overpriced I would greatly appreciate it. My wife and 9 year old son will be accompanying me. We live in Virginia. Thanks

 

I don't live in the Clearwater area but I have vacationed there a number of times.
I have stayed at the Belleview Biltmore Hotel and really enjoyed it. I believe I had a package deal that had me at around $100 / night with breakfast each morning. Of course this is not on the beach but it is not far from it. Here is a link to thier website:

I have also stayed at the Renassiance Vinoy, which is in St. Petersburg, it it is very nice but kind of pricey but it was on the company's dime, not mine.

Silver5.4 I haven't booked anything yet. Any suggestions on hotels would be great. I checked availability on a couple of motels but they were booked up for the week after the 4th of July. We definitely want to stay on the beach.
