anyone with a MIG welder?

Im lookin to borrow a MIG welder if anyone is near Dallas. Im gettin an exhaust system and I dont want to pay a shop something like 300 for just an install. and I can weld, and I have a plug here at my house as well as all the equipment needed.

unless you got a shop or konw a shop that will install a muffler and some extra pipe for really cheap...

thanks for any help

I don't have one, but call the guy I use. He is in Garland, just east of Dallas. (Not sure how close you are or if you are willing to drive, but ask for Gary 972-272-5470 or 972-272-2820. Last time that did something like that he charged me $30-$40 bucks. Worth a call anyway.

the way im doing it is.......at my house im going to cut the rear cats off, and the muffler. then take my new muffler to a shop and have them weld on 2 straights where the cats were and the ner muffler with an extension, all on the existing pipe. if it costs too much...then ill look more into renting or call that one guy and see what he can do.

I have an arch welder here at my house..but it doesnt make very pretty welds, and theres possibilies of burning right thru the metal. and i dont wanna risk it. and the MIGs are expensive..well the one I told my dad he should get, http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=18685

aint gonna be cheap, but I always had bad luck with the little ones and the big, actual man MIG welder always amazed me.

technically yes it is. but most inspectors dont take the time to look underneath a vehicle to see if they are there unless its rediculously loud and some wont even care. if you dont throw a code on your computer, thats the biggest issue because it is part of the emission test (obd portion) so a inspector can't get around it, but if you have no cat (but no code) that is part of the safety part and its up to them if you pass or fail, but technically your supposed to fail

and if you do throw a code, there is kinda a way around the emissions part, heavy duty vehicles (some where around 8600 lbs i cant remember) the obd really doesn't matter at all. i have heard of people putting the heavy duty stickers over there stock ones to show the gvwr for a heavy duty truck of the same model, but still you have the safety portion to worry about.

Shortening Fuel Pump Bracket

I'm looking to shorten the bracket holding my fuel pump assembly/sending unit in the "under construction" fuel tank. Installing a 2000 Lightning drive train in a '56 F-100 and going with the OE fuel pump. Does anyone sell a shorter bracket or is cutting/welding the bracket my only option?
