Ike
Well im an ex-south louisiana person now into houston area. Got news that the house has water (2 in+) and about 4 ft of water in the street. still pounding rain and high winds in the area.
Gotta say thanks to the neighbors who tore down the fence to save the house from flooding
tight packed wood vs standing water = flooded house haha

Up here south of Ft. Worth, Texas, our power went out for two hours, which isn't ynusual with windy conditions in my neighborhood. Been a lot of rain, gusty winds. We're just getting the outer edges of Ike.
I can't imagine what you guys along the Gulf coast are dealing with each season! God Bless!

Pawpaw how was the storm surge. My grandfather lives in Franklin, St Mary parish and the surge brought about 6inch of water in his house, good thing they didn't get much rain or it would have been worse.
The surge was'nt as bad as first thought, lower Lafourche,Terrebonne and lower Jefferson (Lafitte and Grand Isle) got water pretty bad. No water in Lockport but I did get some more wind damage.
