09 F150 Stall when put in gear!

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and am hoping I can get some help. I bought an 09 f150 4X4 with the 5.4. It has recently started stalling when I put it in hear when it is cold. Once it stalls, it's hard to start it again. There are no codes, and once I've started out for the day, it runs great.

It's very difficult to diagnose an issue from here. I realize it can be very frustrating but the only way you will be confident it's been fixed is to have it diagnosed by a reputable technician. No one like to spend money unnecessarily but believe me it will pay off in the long run. Don't become a parts changer.

Thanks for the response. I know it's not easy to diagnose when you're not seeing the issue in front of you. I was just hoping someone had the same issue and had an idea of what I could check myself before taking it in.

Put a couple bottles of Chevron Techron or Gumout for high mileage engines in the gas and see if that helps. Who checked the codes? Seems like there should be a code or two.

I have a code reader, but the check engine light hasn't come on

Read them anyway, there may be some pending codes.

What is the idle speed like before you put it in gear? The old cable operated throttle bodies would do this when the IAC gummed up. There might be a part of the idle air circuit that is full of carbon or junk.
