Installed my HD pedals finally...

As Im sure some of you know, the HDs have electric pedals and we do not. I have never found any aftermarket pedals that I like, so I opted for a set of HD pedals. The brake cover is a strait swap out, the HD one fits a bit tighter actually. The gas pedal however is a different story. Well here is the process it took me to do it anyhow.

1. Un-bolt stock pedal (the holes are from the steeda kit I had before the HD pedals.)

2. You must "gut" the back side of the HD pedal, a dremel is the tool of choice for this. You dont have to make it pretty, its just the back side of a pedal anyhow.

3. Make a notch in the top of the pedal's edge...this allows the neck of the stock assembly to fit better.

4. Cut down the stock pedal to fit inside the HD pedal

5. Check your fit

6. Once the fit looks good, you can JB Weld them together and let dry for 15 hours. I was going to do that to be safe, but I used a product many of you know as "quick steel" .. great stuff and dries fully in only 3 hours. I used a hole tube of it to be safe. I put a decent amount between the pedals...then coated the back side as well. I kicked the hell out of it once it was dry...it will not come off, thats for sure.

7. Sit back and have a beer, laugh at the fact that you just spent over an hour installing a single pedal

The carpet in the 03 Harleys must be the same as the 03 Lightnings since mine looks just like his.
I heard that the 03/04 Lightnings get the Navigator carpet.

Thanks man, it's gettin' there.

I dont remember any difference from my Lightning's carpet, to the Harley's though...

I had black flor mats in my L, and it made a world of difference "appearence wise" IMO.
