Votes? Flowmaster 50 vs. 14" or 18" Magnaflow

I'm just another dude who wants a decent rumble outside but no drone inside. Due to $$ restraints, I simply want to do a 3" SI/SO. My only experience with any of this is a 2001 Mustang GT I had with dual Flowmaster 40's. I definitely DON'T want to deal with even half of that inside noise.
The exhaust shop I talked to today immediately steered me away from Magnaflow to the 50. Said the Magnaflow sound will change after time due to fiberglass wrapped inside or something like that. But I know many folks on this forum love the Maggies.
Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Magnaflow 18". Very low interior noise, a nice clear rich tone when the gas pedal is pressed.

What about what the guy said about the sound changing. He actually said that he has customers sign a waiver before Magnaflow installations stating that they understand it will start to sound different. Is that guy just a crackpot? I've read some posts that say it starts to sound better

acording to most on this forum the magnaflow is the only way to go with an X-pipe as the only option for a crossover pipe; that's thier opinion and even though it's proven that other mufflers perform better they still argue back and forth over it to the point people get banned / suspended and such.

I'll PM you my choice as it's not worth an e-argument to post it publicly

No he is correct. Magnaflows will get louder overtime due to the packing material inside burning up some, increasing the sound levels inside, and outside, precisely why I recommended the 18" because an broken in 18" body is a perfect basic setup thats not annoying.

That youtube of your 11"s sounds pretty good. I'd hate to go TOO quiet with the 18"s. How would the 14"'s be compared the Flowmaster 50?

The 14" is great. It sounds a tad quieter than Darren's install video with his stock cats. I love it dude.

About equal to until 1,000 miles are ran through them, after a couple thousand it will right in the middle of a Flow 40 and Flow 50.

Magnaflow gets my vote because they sound better, flow better, and don't rot out in a year like Slowmaster does. Of course there are better performing mufflers, by they are almost double the price of Slows and maggies. Dollar for dollar, Magnaflow beats Slowmaster.

Moderately... not crazy loud but should have a nice rumble on acceleration and nearly quiet when up to speed
