THE INSTALL

I first took out the healights and took out my previouse HID kit.

THe old HID kit is now out...

I put the new hid bixenon bulbs in the headlights and sat them aside...

Now, I started with connecting the possitive wire to the battery, and looked for places to mount within the reach of the wire. YOu can see where I ended up mounting the relay. The fuse is zip tied to a wire further down on the right side of the picture. I tried to get the cleanest look that I could.

Next, I put the left-side ballast in. I found a snug little spot up in the corner of the fender well. It works perfect... (You have to thead some wire through the hole right by the battery, plug them into the ballast, and THEN slide the ballast into place and zip tie. The wres have to be facing towards the truck and loop back though a hole, otherwise it hits the headlight.)

Now, I taped off each prong to make sure they do not touch eachother. I then plugged them into the right holes and taped it temporarely in place.

Next, I ran the wire for the driver side headlight. (right above the radiator and below the plastic piece)

I would have mounted the driver side ballast in the same location, but the stupid relay wouldnt reach. But, I still found a reasonable spot for it.

I wired the driver-side ground, pluged everything up, taped what needed to be taped and stuck my headlight in. (didnt bolt it yet) NOTE: I bolted the passenger-side grounds to the stock ground, right behind the battery.

I then did the same for the passenger side, but left the prongs temporarily taped in case i got the two outside ones mixed up. Then, I turned on the headlights, tested the highs... and everything was GOOD!

I tapped the prongs in for good, made sure everything was snugg, zip tied a few more things to make sure they werent going anywhere, and bolted the headlights in. DONE!

cutoff? You gotta remember too.. I got these for 150... the average bixenon kit with relay harness, a decent warranty, etc.... is prolly about 4-500$...

I noticed that my beams seemed kinda off... the high was really skinny and wide. The low had dark lines in it. So, I check and ... I had the bulbs upside down. I just slipped them around, and switched the high and low wires. Ta DA! Cant wait untill tonight! Ill post pics of the new and improved beams. Before the bulbs were sitting kinda sideways, now they are straight up and down, I should have alot more of a difference in low to high beam, Im excited!

so how do the HID's do on the f150? I had a set on my old 01 mercury cougar and since the headlights were projectors they looked awesome... but i'm curious how they look on a non-projector headlight.
