I just ordered the parts from MyRadioStore.com. The parts are the similar to the ones I installed in my 2007 Honda Odyssey. It really is a D-I-Y project. It took about an hour in the minivan but I was so scared. Really is a 5 minute project. I will post after I install it in the F150.

I'll just do a quick write up on my phone just to give you an idea..sorry I can't post pics..

First of all you gotta take the little rubber pads off..there's one below the lcd display and above it on top of the dash. There's some 7mm screws that need to be removed, I believe 2 on each one. That plastic piece on top needs to be pulled up and towards the windshield to be able to access the plug at the rear of the lcd display. As for the face of the dash you'll need to pull on each side of it where your vents are and move them far enough out of the way to get the middle section out. To do it correctly those pieces need completely removed but I found that you can do it by just moving the sides enough to slip the center section out. There are tabs that need to clear the sides...you'll see what I'm talking about when you get in it. Unplug all the accessories that hold you up, I believe there are 3. Then once you move it out of the way I believe there are 4 screws holding the radio in, also 7mm. Remove the stereo and the kit explains in pretty good detail on what to plug in and where. Just be sure to plug in exactly how it says and follow the directions because if you accidentally plug in at the wrong spot you have to take the module apart and reset it by touching a screwdriver to the contacts and its kind of a pain..trust me, I had to do it cause I didn't read into it far enough. Once you get it all plugged in and your antenna ran, I would recommend testing it before you put it all together. Just be in a clear area and activate the sirius then your good to go. If it doesn't work, then you gotta call the technical number and they can walk you through it to make it work. The whole thing takes about 30 minutes if all goes well, that includes running the antenna. I put mine on the left top corner of the roof right above the windshield and I ran the wire right inside the windshield rubber and between the fender and door jam behind the weather stripping and you can't tell its even there.

If its the same kit I have then the dealer did not install it correctly. As soon as you touch the sirius button you should have satellite radio. You do lose the option of the preset numbers beyond 6 but that's why you have sir1,2, and 3 to give you a total of 18 presets.

Does anyone know if the F150 standard radio is SiriusXM ready? If so, they sell a simple module for around $70 that includes the antenna. It plugs into the back of the radio and works just like your other sources (AM, FM, CD, USB, etc.).

I just pulled one out of my Tundra since the new truck will have it already.

ISimple/SCC1

well sounds like I'm in the same boat... however mine is not sat. ready.. so after many hours of research, this is what i have found...

ISimple Gateway - amazon $99
Scc1 sat controller - amazon $50

just came in yesterday not installed yet... (will be doing it Friday)

From what i have heard (Car Toys and Best Buy) this set up will give you sat radio via the "AUX" button via FM or antenna adapter (xmit plugs in line with your am/fm antenna $30 Best Buy) as well as full text on your stock radio screen.

please post if you have done this set up... the only prob is the sellers of the units will not take open box returns... so if it doesn't work I'm out $250 including the install....
