Using Aux for other than Satellite
Using Aux for other than Satellite
2006 F150 Lariat factory disk w/ Sirius
I have sirius for Howard and Bubba. One is gone completely and one the schedule doesn't work for me.
I want to use my smart phone for Pandora, or my ipod for my own collection.
Is the satellite a separate unit? Is there a cable on the back side that can be extended to the front so that I can plug in my phone and hit the aux button and get the signal?
I love my factory unit with steering wheel controls and factory good looks.

My Dad's '07 XLT and my '08 STX both have Line-In ports on the top of the dash above the radio but my brother's '04 Lariat does not. It should be possible to pull the dash and replace the head unit with one that has the Line-In port installed. I think they made the port standard in '07, so you should check to see about whether or not your wiring will handle the setup.
Just my opinion, I have an 08 F150 and i don't like the look of straggling wire coming down the front of the dash. I used it for a couple months until I replaced with an AVIC-D3 and the ipod is stowed away in the glovebox no straggling wires.
You could use something like USA Spec sells. Or iSimple. They work with the factory unit, and you can route the cables where you want it. I have the USA spec in my 07, and I keep my iPod in the glove box. There is also RCA inputs on the unit so you can run a cable for your phone if you want. I don't remember if I hooked my sirius unit back up or not, but it allows you to leave it installed so you can use it. It does go through the AUX of the radio.
