New mounting location

I decided to clean up my windshield so I moved my sirius unit to a new location. it works well because it is easier for me to reach and is not blinding at night

Good use of that ALMOST useless pocket!
The only use i've made of that spot so far is to mount a switch for my screen, and to set my faceplate on when I leave my truck.

that is a great idea!

I am looking for a place to mount my XM Roady XT and that might work as well. tho my 4X4 doesnt have the in-dash cup holders like you got, so the useless area is even larger in my rig.

question: how did you mount it? custom fab up a bracket...or?

I was looking at doing the same thing with mine. Did you use the suction cup mount?

i made a bracket out of aluminum from work. it really wasn't that hard. drilled four holes in one end to mount the radio to and four holes on the other end to mount the bracket to the inside pocket.

its very sturdy and convenient

if anyone is interested i'll try to get some pictures of the bracket

after that pic i also cleaned up the wires so you can't see them anymore, i just didn't have any zip ties at the time. I also have a cable taht hooks into my ipod coming out of that little compartment, so when i'm not using it i stuff the wire up in there. The little cubbyhole turned out to be pretty handy considering its useless for anything else

Here's my mount. I take my radio out all the time so I needed to mount it in a spot that I could easily get to it.
