Canadian Nav Unit...adding Sirius??
I just picked up my 07 King Ranch with the factory Nav unit yesterday. In Canada, there is no option yet for Sirius from the factory on the F150s (though other Fords do, go figure!).
When I hit the Media button on the Nav unit, there is no option for Sat. When I go to System Info, there is no ESN (or whatever its called) number for a Sirius tuner, but I would have figured that since there would obviously not be a tuner built in.
If I buy a Sirius tuner from eBay and hook it up (get it wired in), will these options show up on my Nav unit so that I can use it to control the tuner? In other words, when the tuner gets plugged in, does the head unit realize there is a Sirius tuner plugged in then add the options for Sat on the Media screen plus also the ESN number of the System Info screen or will the HU need to be "unlocked" or something? I assume the Nav unit is the same as the US...it has to be from a cost point of view on Ford's part.
