XM Roady XT install pictures?

Anyone got 'em? Preferably in a truck with a floor console/floor shifter?

Thanks.

I guess the Roady XT isn't a popular receiver?

I don't think that unit is your typical permanent install. Don't they just clip on?

I saw one installed in a customer's car at work, it's got a little bracket it sits on, clips into an A/C vent or anything else it can be hung on.

Update - I bought the Roady XT yesterday and got it installed this morning. Pics forthcoming.

Initial impressions - it doesn't sound that bad through the built-in wireless FM modulator, but a PIE adapter is definitely on the list of things to get soon - if anything, just to tidy up the installation. The unit blends in well to my interior, it's almost a perfect match to the silver dash accents.

I was lazy and didn't get any fancy bracket or anything to hold it in place, though - I just used the included swivel bracket and stuck it to the left of the cigar lighter under the climate controls. I figure if I ever have to rip the bracket off, if it damages the finish on the climate control trim, I can always replace that instead of trying to color match/paint the silver accents of the dash (I originally planned on mounting it just below the coin holder on the dash).

I do wish that the 12V adapter had a longer cable. I had originally planned on running the power cable through my center console, plugging it into the 12V power point in the rear of the center console. That didn't pan out, 'cause the cable barely reaches that power point. I have it plugged into the port up front in the meantime. When I get more time, I'll hardwire it to a switched power source.

Sith Lord, I borrowed a page from your book (I think?) and ran the wire for the antenna through the firewall, along the wiper cowl and placed the antenna in a little void under the cowl about 3" away from the stock FM antenna. The instructions said that for best effect with FM modulation, the satellite antenna should be as close to the FM antenna as possible, and that's as close as I can get it without the fricking thing on the outside of the truck. I didn't want to run it through the center mount brake light for fear of water leaks.

Well honestly I can't take credit.

Someone did it on an 03 and I just slightly changed for the new body style.

So far I've had zero reception problems.

I'm sure it looks great...you are better at this crap than I am...

I lose reception from time to time...I think I need to reposition the antenna for best effect. Did you remove the wiper cowl to get yours in place, or did you just kinda worm it in through the gap in the panel (like I did :o )?

You can see it here...I'm not sure if you saw the pics I posted...

Even with some ice today...not much though...it still worked fine.

I've only lost it in tunnels and such...
