I just installed my sirius ant on the dash all the way up to the windshield and just to the right of the security light. I didn't have time to finish my wiring last night but I'll let you know how it works.

I put my XM antenna up there temporarily using some folded over masking tape on the bottom and it works great on the open road but driving around any of the "regular" roads we have I get drop-outs due to the overhanging trees. It still beats the lousy reception & lack of channels any day though:-)

Nice installs!! Very clean!! I was thinking of putting the antenna in that same location also. I tried it initially underneath the plastic tray on the dash. There is a metal bracket just above the radio that I put the antenna on. Some problems as well with trees and overhangs etc. I like the dash idea if the coverage is better.

I tried the dash location and got excessive drop outs there. Put it on the roof and it was better then tried a visteon antenna on the roof and worked the best so far. I moved the visteon to the dash and it was back to bad. I'm going to try under the cowl with the visteon and see if its as good as the roof. The original antenna was the one with the sir-ecl kit.

Hi nothinbutaford! Do you think you might have a bad cable/connection? I would think on the roof you would have a 100% signal (except intunnels/garages/etc.) of course.

I moved mine t on top of the cowl. I originally had it under, but had some reception problems. Haven't had any on top.

Just used 3m moulding tape. Hasn't budged in a year and a half.

Regards!
